Riding Mountain National Park is the perfect location for a Canadian lake getaway. Located in Manitoba, Riding Mountain offers a gorgeous townsite, many different campsites, hiking trails, and much more. The picturesque Clear Lake is located inside the park off the townsite of Wasagaming. If you can imagine yourself sipping coffee early one summer morning while you take in sunshine and nature, then keep reading!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Explore the Townsite<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Wasagaming townsite has a charming and welcoming feel. The busy streets and rustic buildings make this the ultimate lake town in the summer. There are a number of fun shops and delicious restaurants to visit. Some of my favorite stops include the Boardwalk Caf\u00e9, the White House Bakery, and the Lakehouse restaurant. Also located in the townsite is an adorable movie theatre called the Park Theatre Complex that is perfect for rainy days and serves delicious popcorn. To explore Wasagaming you can even rent a bike with options available for two-person and four-person bikes from several different rental businesses. If you are looking for a picturesque Canadian lake experience, Wasagaming is the town to visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Visitor Center<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The recently renovated Riding Mountain National Park Visitor Centre offers fun and informational activities for the entire family. You can learn about the animals located inside the park in addition to learning about their habitats and movement patterns. The visitor center offers several hands-on learning opportunities in its three exhibits which are Park Wildlife, Ecological Projects, and Anishinabe Culture. The visitor center is located in a beautiful log and stone building that offers a rustic log cabin feel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Martese Cruises<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Seeing Clear Lake from the beautiful boat the Martese is a must-do activity. You can sail on the Martese for both an afternoon cruise and a sunset cruise. While on the boat, guides share the history of the lake and the national park. You can order appetizers and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as you take in the beauty of the lake. This activity is a bit on the pricy side but is very enjoyable for all ages. You can book tickets online and then arrive at the Clear Lake Marina at the scheduled time. If you visit Clear Lake, you must enjoy the beauty of the lake from the water and marvel at all the gorgeous shorelines and lakeside cabins. The Martese Cruises are a relaxing and informative activity that can be enjoyed by the entire family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clear Lake Marina & Lakefront Path  <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A sidewalk trail leads pedestrians to the Clear Lake Marina which is filled with boats and offers gorgeous unobstructed views of the lake and the surrounding forest. At the end of the pier, there is seating, so you are able to sit and relax as you take in the scenery. When you exit the pier, you can follow the paved path toward the cabins located at the lakefront. This pathway allows you to walk along the lake and look at gorgeous cabins while finding an entirely new perspective for breathtaking photos. If you enjoy walking or are looking for a quick and beautiful stroll, I highly recommend this path.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
