Background: Grey Owl’s Cabin<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Grey Owl’s Trail in Prince Albert National Park offers a beautiful trek through nature in addition to an opportunity to learn about the history of the area. You can venture through the thick forest along Kingsmere Lake to Grey Owl\u2019s cabin and learn about Grey Owl’s endeavors. The hike to Grey Owl\u2019s Cabin is more than a hike, it’s an opportunity to connect with nature and all its beauty. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Waskesui Townsite and Lake<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Prince Albert National Park has an adorable town site called Waskesui that is filled with restaurants, candy shops, clothing stores, and souvenir shops. While the focus of your trip may be Grey Owl\u2019s Trail, I highly recommend taking some time to explore the townsite before your hike. This townsite is located beside Waskesui Lake, a gorgeous body of water with a nice beach that’s perfect for warm summer days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grey Owl Trail Head<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Once you are ready to begin your hike, you must drive approximately forty minutes north of the townsite of Waskesui on Kingsmere Road . This trail begins between Waskesui Lake and Kingsmere Lake and is about 20 kilometers one direction. My group spent four days hiking the Grey Owl Trail which I highly recommend as it allowed for sufficient time to rest and enjoy the scenery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grey Owl’s Trail: Campgrounds<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The tenting areas along the Grey Owl’s Trail offer beautiful views of Kingsmere Lake since the trail twists with the lake\u2019s edge. The campsites along the trail are Westwind, Chipewyan Portage, Sandy Beach, and North End. My group stayed at Chipewayan Portage, North End, Sandy Beach, and West Wind Campground. Personally, Sandy Beach was my favorite campground as it offered a small beach area and gorgeous views of the lake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
