This city, situated in the United Kingdom, is a location that should be added to your travel bucket list. While it may not be as popular as other well-known destinations across the United Kingdom, Lincoln has plenty to offer. From the gorgeous Lincoln Cathedral to the International Bomber Command Centre, Lincoln is worth a visit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lincoln Catehdral <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The gorgeous architecture of the Lincoln Cathedral draws you into the beautiful building. Lincoln Cathedral offers tours that detail the history of the cathedral and share stories about the building. One notable story is of the Lincoln Imp.\u00a0I highly recommend visiting the cathedral and looking out for the Imp perched upon its pillar overlooking the Lincoln Cathedral. The Lincoln Cathedral is an absolutely beautiful sight that you don\u2019t want to miss!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

International Bomber Command Centre (IBCC)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

An attraction that is unique to the Lincoln area is the International Bomber Command Centre (IBCC). This memorial commemorates the sacrifices of many individuals during World War Two in the bomber field. The goal of the IBCC is to promote remembrance and recognition. Lincoln was chosen as the sight for this center because it is in the center of all twenty-seven military bases in Lincolnshire which is also known as \u2018Bomber County\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The memorial Spire is a large medal display that stands 102 ft tall which is the wingspan of the Avro Lancaster Bomber. You can walk underneath the structure and look up to see the sky showcased at the end of the structure. The Spire looks upon the city of Lincoln with beautiful views of the architecture including the gorgeous Lincoln Cathedral which was used by many bomber crews as a sighting point. There\u2019s also a wall of names that surrounds the Spire that commemorates the lost bomber crew members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can also visit the Chadwick Centre to learn more about the history of Bomber County. With interactive displays and knowledgeable support staff, this center helps you better understand the experiences and sacrifices of the Bomber Crews. The Chadwick Centre at the IBCC has many resources and stories to help enrich your learning while visiting the monument. The IBCC offers resources, moving experiences, and a chance to reflect on a devastating time in history. I highly recommend visiting the IBCC as it is an experience that you will not soon forget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steep Hill<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, if you\u2019re looking to explore cute English shops and see beautiful buildings, Steep Hill is the place to visit. Steep Hill connects the entrance to the Lincoln Cathedral with the more modern area of Lincoln. The gorgeous cobblestone street is the fourth steepest street in the country, and it\u2019s lined with historic and adorable buildings. From tea rooms to bookstores and pubs, Steep Hill has plenty to offer which makes it a popular tourist destination. Some of the shops that I enjoyed most included Bells Tea Shop and Imperial Teas of Lincoln. If you like English teas, books, and relaxing afternoons, you should visit Steep Hill, but make sure to wear your walking shoes!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Afternoon Tea: Lincoln Cathedral Cafe <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After shopping and exploring Lincoln, tea and snacks are always a good idea. We visited the Lincoln Cathedral Caf\u00e9 located beside the Lincoln Cathedral. This cafe is adorable and filled with delicious treats. The atmosphere is welcoming and the views from the caf\u00e9 are beautiful. I highly recommend visiting for afternoon tea as you take in all that Lincolnshire has to offer.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
