Small Scale Bread is easily one of the best cafes in the Bay of Quinte. The focus of Small Scale is to offer fresh bread and treats. What started as a home business quickly grew into a storefront and has become a staple for locals.
The types of pastries and treats change seasonally but some of my personal favorites have been their peach and cream cheese Danish, their chocolate chip cookies, and their croissants. You can also find fresh sour dough and other bread in addition to some delicious sour dough pizza.
Lastly, Small Scale includes a small coffee bar with a variety of options. From flavored lattes to warm hot chocolate, I highly recommend a morning coffee and treat at Small Scale. Also be sure to check out the local products displayed in the store front.
Some things to keep in mind when visiting Small Scale are that they are very popular and often sell out before closing time so be sure to add this stop to the beginning of your day. Lastly, seating in their storefront is limited. During the warm months, picnic tables outside the bakery can be used but otherwise it may be challenging to find a place to enjoy your pastries.

With generous coffee portions, lovely staff, and delicious treats, L’Auberge is the perfect stop for a cozy café experience. On Saturday’s they offer fresh bread and croissants that are flaky, soft, and delicious.
In addition, L’Auberge has a selection of imported cheese, wine, jams, and other neat products to share with others and enjoy later.
